Outdoor Stainless Steel Cabinets Create Dream Kitchen OutsideAt the first hint of Spring, you can find me planning to start living outdoors as much as possible. Relaxing, reading and especially dining outdoors are things I dream of all through the dreary winter months. This year we wanted to go beyond our trusty old charcoal grill and really create the outdoor kitchen of our dreams. It wasn't as hard as you might think - and with a little planning you can save money and time and be out there, grilling and chilling in comfort and style. How can you create your own outdoor dream kitchen? It's important to start at the beginning - and that's deciding where you want to put it. Some people are lucky enough to have a spacious porch, or a pool - natural places to turn into the perfect outdoor cooking area. But any yard space with something to offer, be it shade, or view, can be used. Next, design the "look" you want. Do you want built in cabinetry and refrigerators, or free-standing? Marble counter tops or easy-care, durable stainless steel? Plan a simple foundation, plumbing for your outdoor sink, and a propane line, if desired and available, for a spacious, modern grill that can cook an entire meal. Don't forget storage areas! Nothing breaks up the flow of a good outdoor meal like having to run back and forth to the house for cups, plates and silverware. Outdoor stainless steel cabinets are durable, easy to install and look great even after heavy use with minimal care. And while high end cabinets by makers like Danver, Viking and Kalamazoo have many desirable features, such as pull out drawers and a choice of surfaces, you don't have to buy high end if it's not in your budget. Any enclosed shelving will do. Because it's exposed to the weather, you want durable materials such as stone or stainless steel. And of course you want all your kitchen products and appliances to be rated for outdoor use. You might want to plan some cover so you can use your kitchen in the heat of the day or bad weather. And of course, if you're pouring a foundation, make sure there's room for a dining table chairs and perhaps an umbrella or two. |
